I am so nervous my cat, Buttercup, is 3 years old and this morning I found a brown stain on my bed. My mom and dad think she has a urine infection and we have an appointment with the vet at 1:30 today. I am just so nervous is anyone here a vet or has had a cat that has had this before???? She is very healthy otherwise and this is the first time I have seen a brown stain on my bed or anywhere. Please reply with any info you might have.

That sounds bad. I hope you cat feels better. I know someone who has a cat that ate one of her kid?s darts and punctured her intestines. They can't afford to put her down at the vet so the Dad was going to. He couldn?t though because the kids looked at him like he was a murderer when he tried- all weekend long too. The kids wouldn't even speak to him! So now the cat has to pass away on her own.
Let's hope your cat feels much better! It doesn't sound that serious to me, so I'm sure your cat will be on the mend in no time!!!

I'm not an expert by any means, but it could be a simple bladder infection. Some cats are prone to those. Hopefully, all your kitty needs is a course of antibiotics.

Edited to add: You may want to let the vet know if your kitty is straining or is vocal while visiting the litter box.

I work as a vets assistant, and if she does have a bladder infection, they are easy to clear up and I wouldn't worry too much about it. I'm crossing my fingers for you that it isn't something more serious. It's good to hear you have an appointment for her today, I love responsible owners!

I had to take my kitty to the vet today. He does have a bladder infection, but should be all better with some antibiotics. I'm glad everything went well!

Thanks everyone Buttercup is like my baby she is the cutiest little thing. She acts so healthy other wise she was chasing my other cat Cuddles not too long ago and is running around the house too. I will let everyone know when I get back. Also, I get TB tested and my Hep shot today!

I have a small dog about the size of a cat. She had some blood stains like what you describe. It cleared up pretty quickly with antibiodics. Good luck!
